The Sunshine Blog Awards

Posted: April 15, 2012 in Uncategorized

I was lucky enough to be nominated by the lovely Beyond Imagination! This award is given to blogs said to brighten one’s day! It means a lot to me that I could make someone smile.

Here are the rules…

1. Include the award logo in your post & on your blog.
2. Answer 10 questions about yourself – You can make up your own or you can use mine.
3. Nominate 5 – 10 other wonderful bloggers.
4. Let the other nominees know they are nominated and include links to their blog.
5. Link the person who nominated you.

1. Last time you cried at a work of fiction?

I cry at fictional moments, but not my own life. It’s actually kind of sad. I saw the Hunger Games movie and was shocked at how many times I teared up, seeing as I already knew what was going to happen. I got choked up at the reaping, bawled my eyes out at Rue’s death, and had tears rolling down my cheeks during Cato’s little death speech.

2. What’s you’re favorite way to get books(store, e-reader, audiobook, ect)?

I know it’s bad for the enviornment, but there’s something gratifying about have a book in your hand and turning pages that are tearing because they’re so well loved.

3. What are your favorite movies?

I guess it depends on my mood really, but this is what’s been toping my list lately

  • This Film Is Not Yet Rated(A Kirby Dick documentary that EVERYONE who’s against censorship should watch)
  • The Hunger Games(fantastic book to film adaptation)
  • Titanic(I cry just seeing the commercials)
  • The Secret World of Arrietty(it’s a Studio Ghibli film, need I say more)

4. Favorite TV Shows?
Now that the Legend of Korra is out I’m fangirling over Avatar: The Last Airbender Again.

Other then that I watch the Big Bang Theory, The Boondocks, and American Dad. And my guilty pleasure is watching Anthony Bourdain on the Travel Channel.

5. What is your happy food?

Tuna and noddles

6. Weirdest fangirl crush?

It’s a tie between Haymitch from the Hunger Games or Minho from the Maze Runner.

Please don’t ask why, even I don’t know.

7. Book series that you feel are under appreciated?

Truancy by Isamu Fukui. Seeing as the author wrote it when he was only fifteen he gets my upmost respect. The idea of an oppressive education system feels to me like a completely fresh take on the whole Young Adult dystopian genre that’s gotten so popular.

Also The Maze Runner by James Dashner. It has a lot of in your face action. I actually haven’t been this entranced by a series since the Hunger Games. And that’s no joke. I’m on the second one in the series and keep having to read it at inappropriate times(like at dinner with my family).

9. Hardback or Paperback?

Hardback, because my books are so well loved and pass through lots of hands. Hardbacks are less likely to get all torn up.

10. If you are to choose, British Accent or Australian?

Australian, it makes me think the person is full of adventure!

Here are my nominees

  1. I read Maze Runner before The Hunger Games. I still think it’s better than The Hunger Games.. I know a lot of people are gonna freak out when they read this. I can’t wait for the prequel to come out in August — The Kill Order! Have you finished the series already?

    • No, I’m on the second one. I had to force myself to stop reading a few minutes ago so I could go to bed. Can’t wait to finish it. It’s so good! Hopefully the movie ends up good! Wish I could audition for a part but I live in the middle of nowhere 😛 As soon as I’m done with it we’ll have to talk about it.
